Parts for a job

For the office team

Open the job and select the Parts & POs tab. It shows the job’s purchase orders, parts held for it and stock used on it.

Reserving holds parts for a job so nobody else uses them.

  1. Select Reserve parts.
  2. Search for the part, choose the location it’s coming From and the quantity.
  3. Select Reserve parts.

Reserved parts stop counting as available. If they’re on the engineer’s van, they see them at the top of Parts used in the app. To hold parts at the warehouse for an engineer, reserve them there and then move them to the van.

Select Release if they’re no longer needed.

When the engineer answers “No” for parts

Section titled “When the engineer answers “No” for parts”

If an engineer finishes with “No” and says a part is needed, put the job in Awaiting Parts and select Raise purchase order here. See Awaiting parts.

Parts an engineer takes off their van appear under Stock used. They go on the job’s Lines & billing as material lines with the cost and your sell price.

Cancelling a job releases its reserved parts. Its purchase orders stay open: the cancel window names them, so you can cancel them on the order if the parts aren’t needed.
