# Clash warnings and leave

Why the planner warns you about a booking, and how to record holidays, training and sickness so you don’t double-book.

## The warnings

| Warning | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Already booked** | The engineer has another visit at that time. |
| **Outside working hours** | The time is outside your business hours. |
| **Unavailable** | They're on leave, training or off sick. |
| **Missing skill** | The job type needs a skill they don't have. |
| **Expired qualification** | They have it, but the certificate has run out. |
| **Over capacity** | Their day is already full. |

Warnings don't stop you. Choose **Book anyway** and give a reason; it's kept on the job.

## Record leave

1. On the planner, select **Add leave**.
2. Choose the engineer, the type (**Annual leave**, **Training**, **Sick** or **Unavailable**) and the dates.
3. Save.

The time shows as blocked on the planner, and bookings over it get the **Unavailable** warning.

Leave added here is approved straight away and goes on the engineer's timesheet. Requests engineers send from the app show faded, marked **Requested**, and don't block bookings until you approve them in **People → Time off**. See [Approve time off](/people/approve-time-off/).
