# The five job stages

What New Job, Awaiting Parts, Attended, Complete and Cancelled mean, and what moves a job between them.

Every job is at one of five stages. Sustainable ERP moves most jobs on by itself when your engineers finish visits; the office steps in for the rest.

| Stage | What it means | How it gets there |
|---|---|---|
| **New Job** | Logged and not attended yet. It may already have a visit booked. | When it's created |
| **Awaiting Parts** | You're waiting for parts before the next visit. | The office marks it |
| **Attended** | An engineer went and said more work is needed. | The engineer answers **No** at the end of a visit |
| **Complete** | The work is done. | The engineer answers **Yes**, or the office marks it complete |
| **Cancelled** | It won't go ahead. A reason is always recorded. | The office cancels it |

## Booked, sent, on site?

Those aren't stages, they're about the **visit**. A job at **New Job** might have a visit that's **Scheduled**, **Dispatched**, **En route** or **On site**. You'll see that as a second badge next to the stage. See [What the visit badges mean](/planner/visit-badges/).

## Invoiced?

Also not a stage. Jobs show **Not invoiced**, **Part-invoiced** or **Invoiced** as a separate flag, so a job can be **Complete** and still waiting to be billed.
