# Sign in to the engineer app

Install the app, sign in with your work email, and choose whether to share your location and get notifications.

Your office sets up your account and sends you an email invitation. Open the link in it to choose your password first.

1. Install **Sustainable Engineer** from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open it and enter your **Work email** and **Password**.
3. Tap **Sign in**.

If you work for more than one company, you'll be asked **Which company are you working for?**

## No app? Use your phone's browser

You can also sign in at **engineer.sustainable-erp.co.uk** in Safari or Chrome. It works like the app, with the same details. Allow the camera and location when your browser asks. The browser version doesn't send notifications yet, so check **My Day** for new jobs.

## Forgotten your password?

Tap **Forgot password?**, enter your work email and tap **Send reset link**. The link in the email works for 30 minutes.

## Location

The app asks to share your location only while you work. It records where you were when you start travelling, arrive and finish. It is never tracked in the background or when you're off shift. Tap **Continue** to allow it, or **Not now**. You can change this later in **Profile**.

## Notifications

Next, the app asks to send you notifications. They tell you straight away about new and rescheduled jobs from the office, and visits that are cancelled. Tap **Continue**, then allow it when your phone asks, or tap **Not now**. Tapping a notification opens that visit. You can change this any time in your phone's Settings.

## Usage and crash data

The app records how it's used (screens opened and steps like accepting the day or finishing a visit) and reports crashes and errors, so we can fix problems quickly. It sends only internal ID numbers and counts, never names, addresses, notes or what you write in forms.

If the app says it's for field engineers only, your account is set up as office staff. Ask your office to change your user type.
