# Photos, parts and notes

Take before and after photos, record the parts and materials you used and write a work summary the customer can read.

## Photos

1. In **Work steps**, open **Photos**.
2. Tap **Add photo** under **Before**, **After** or **Other (office only)**.

Before and after photos go on the customer's job report. **Other** photos stay with the office. Your company sets how many before and after photos a job needs. By default it's at least one after photo.

If a photo fails to upload, tap **Failed · Retry**.

## Parts and materials

Open **Parts used**.

**From your van:** parts reserved for this job are at the top. Tap **Use**, check the quantity and tap **Add to job**. For anything else on your van, search by name or SKU and tap **Use**. The part comes off your van stock. See [Van stock](/engineer-app/van-stock/).

**Item not on the van:** for something you bought or had with you, fill in **What was used**, the **Quantity** and the **Unit**, then tap **Add material**.

You only see quantities, never prices. The office prices the job when they invoice it.

Added the wrong thing? Tap the bin next to it. A part from your van goes back on it.

## Work summary

Open **Work summary** and answer **What did you do?** The customer sees this on their job report, so keep it plain: what you found and what you did.

There's also a **Note for the office (optional)**. Only the office sees it. It never goes on the report.
