# Renew or end a contract

What happens as a contract nears its end date, how to renew it for another term, and how to terminate it early.

## Coming up to renewal

By default, 60 days before the end date a contract becomes **Expiring** and the office is reminded.

- **Renews automatically**: on the day after it ends, the next term starts by itself, with the same sites, SLAs and plans.
- **Renewed by the office**: open the contract, choose **Renew**, and check the value for the next term. The new term starts as a draft so you can change the price before you activate it.

The old contract shows **Renewed** and still runs to its end date. The two are linked, so you can move between terms.

If nobody renews it, the contract shows **Expired** after its end date and stops creating visits.

## Ending early

Choose **Terminate** and give a reason. No more visits are created. Jobs already created stay, so you can cancel or finish them as you wish.

A draft contract you no longer need can be removed with **Delete draft**.
